Has anyone installed these on a Gen III and if so, do you have any pics? I'm thinking about putting these on my truck but would like to see pictures first if possible. Thanks.

oh god no.....

If i've ever made fun of somebody for doing something stupid to their truck, it's putting lund hood scoops on. Just an opion, but i'd rather spend 3,000 on a ram air hood than have those (realizes you can get hoods for 500)

I hear you. I had a beautiful AAR hood on my 2000 408 Stroker Ram - which went up in a fire. I find fiberglass to be just a little too flammable for my taste at this point. And I don't have the bucks to buy a hood + prep + paint anyway. So, I might throw the scoops on. I'd like to see pics if anyone has them.

Dont Save your Money the LUND LOOK looks like CRAP. Makes your Truck look like youshop at JCWhitney Catalog. Next your gonna want to put running lights all over it. Just my opinion Plus your Truck is a 4x4 id buy some nice wheels and and paint the lower part of the front valance that DARK GARNET and it should really be quite sharp looking. just my 2c worth.

I appreciate everyone's advice. I like the stock rims. If I wanted a color matched valance I would have bought a Sport model. And as I stated above, I'm not interested in spending money on a hood.

I thought about getting those scoops too until I saw some installed on a Dakota. They look way too cheap for my taste. I'd rather save the $60 and put it in the piggy bank to buy something more functional. A GTS hood would be nice.

Depends on the color, seems darker colors hide the seam between "fake" scoop and hood so the scoop looks less stick-on. The real thing definately looks better, but for the $$ it looks ok.

I am also considering putting them on my truck. I've seen them on a gold chevy, and a red ram. They looked really good, even up close. For $60 why not.
From what I have seen on this site most people say that ram hoods don't really help your performance unless your going 150mph. So why blow $500 on a hood, then who knows how much for prep and paint.

If you look hard enough you can get a hood for 200-250. I know this cause i have seen them and a friend of mine bought one for his 2001 Dakota. With the prep and paint you should be able to get that done for about 150-200. Yes that is more then the lund crap but is well worth it. Lund looks cheap and why go cheap on such a nice truck

Go here to see the PICS......

Just call me cheap! I'll spend 60 bucks + 75 bucks for paint anyday, than spending 350+paint on another hood.

They have been on the truck for over a year now, and haven't blown off yet. I get complimented on them very often. If you want an extreme SHOW truck, don't get them, but if you want to put the X-tra BILLS in your supercharger fund like me, get the scoops.

Scoops are gay, and look like crap. Even i thought they looked decent in the picture, but this one time i was at a car show and this other dak plus up next to mine. He had those scoops on, and let me tell you which dak the people weren't lookin at.....HIS! They were so fake looking, and people kept tellin me to move my truck to a different spot b/c it was makin my truck look bad. Just my opinion....and 85% of the people who were at that car show with me.

If they are so gay, why do I get compliments?

Not everybody thinks they have a show truck.

Do I think it makes my truck look like a million bucks? No.... Do I think it makes it look good? Yes....

Do I give a darn?....Uh

Your entitled to your opinion, but don't flame people for doing their own thing.

I always thought stick-on type stuff was pretty
lame. But I have to admit the lund hood
scoops look pretty good on the trucks I've
seen around town.

I've been thinking of putting a set on my quad
backwards, it would look like a cowl hood! It
might be worth a shot. Besides, it's only
2-way tape that holds them on. It can be
removed with a heat gun if needed.

I'm pretty sure Stepdogg has his stories mixed
up. Instead of " this one time i was at a car
show........" he must have meant to say "this
one time at band camp......"

If the other truck looked that bad with the hood
scoops it would have been a benefit to have it
parked next to a better looking truck.
