Subject: Stripping and painting IP: Logged
Message: I just got my street scene rollpan and my Stillen bumper cover in. I got the bumper cover off of ebay and it needs to be stripped of the paint and sanded. What should I use Strip the urethane bumper and sand it with? Also, where can I find a good primer with a flex agent added? Does anyone know what the paint code for a 97 black truck also with the flex agent? Lastly, how much is this going to cost me?

Message: Look in your glove box, there should be a sticker on the door itself telling you about some of the options that came on the truck when new. At the bottom it should tell you the paint codes. Good Luck

Message: You do not have to completely strip the bumper if you dont want too. So long as you sand off the clear, with some wet/dry 600, and maybe scuff it up with a 3m scotchbrite, you should be cool. Flex agents are typically added to the base/clear, just ask for it at your local paint shop, and be sure they explain the ratio's to you. Also a little tip to lay the paint on nice and flat, add some reducer to the mix, paint guy can, well technically due to EPA rules he cannot tell you this, but ask for the ratio on this as well. Good luck
