Message: low99dakota - nice!
I wish a power sunroof was a factory option! My last FOUR vehicles have had one and I LOVE it for getting the heat out and some fresh air flow thru the vehicle by just using the vents when it's nice out.
My current Ranger has a manual, after-market, flip-up (removable) moon-roof deal that only leaks if you do not wait till LONG after a wash/rain to let the gasket dry completely. I guess I could do the same when my Dak arrives, it's just SO hard to cut into a brand-new ride just for some fresh-air :)

Message: Yeah, I actually have 18's now, but they were made wrong and I'm having a hassle returning them. I am awaiting word from the BBB as we speak. They were Coddington Stingrays. You can do a search for all the details if you're interested in it. After I hear back, I will be ordering new rims. I'm pissed off with Boyd's, so they will probably be Colorado Customs or Intro's..

Message: Low99Dakota,
Nice rig!
Question on the toneau: What brand and model? I'm in the market and your's looks rather trick. Is there a fitment problem with over-the-rail bed protectors, water problems, etc??
If you [or anyone else with good/bad/ugly/] have any info on over-the-rail hard toneaus, I'd be much obliged.

low99dakota's tonneau is the same as mine. The ARE for Dodge's. The fit is great, very easily mounted without drilling holes and it locks the tailgate when it's down (a very nice feature). I have had no signs of water seepage to the inside and it's seen a lot of heavy rain.
I don't know of a web site for ARE and I bought mine second hand from a local source.

Message: Wow! Sounds like the ARE is a good topper. By the way, are we looking at very expensive or horribly expensive? I've gotten SnugTop and Innovations pricing between $780 and $880. Is the ARE within those borders, or do I need to take my first born son AND girlfriend as partial payment?,...D

Message: just to let yall know...
a sunroof wasnt a factory option but a dealer option. i dont know if it is anymore though. my truck has one that was installed between the factory and the dealer. there is a company inside Warren, Michigan (where our trucks are made) that installs them. There is a sticker inside the door jamb of my truck that has the company name, city and date of install.... and the date matches the date on the production of my truck.

Doc- I payed just under $700 installed, that includes tax
As far as the sunroof goes, I had mine done at an aftermarket shop, not from the dealer, so I cannot comment on the quality of those ones...

Message: Anyone know how to get the overhead console off???
I have an 00 sport CC with overhead console, can get a good deal on a sunroof, but need a way around the console. I need to get it out because the sunrof will just fit in front of the overhead support beam.
Please let me know if anyone has a solution.

Message: I have a 2000 QC 4x4 with the overhead the overhead console. SOME, and I do stress the word SOME, SOME aftermarket accessories dealers will cut off the garage door openner and sunglasses compartments of the overhead console, and with the head liner that they take out, will fashipn an attractive cover over the ending the make it look nice. I haven't had this done, but I know in Virginia Beach, VA, a guy does it. Also, in QC's, there is a support member that runs across the roof right behind the front seats, and that can't be cut without moifying other parts of the truck. If you do, then your vehicle no longer follow DOT standards of safety. I have head that there is a way to modify the sides and it allows the entire roof to be removed, and still be within safety specs...
