Subject: CLear Rear Diff Covers?
IP: Logged

Message:
I remember seeing a thread about this a few weeks back and I cannot find it now, tried to use search and I spent over an hour with no luck. I can't remember what the Subject name and if it even included the word differential in it, so... Does anyone either know the web address for that company or where I can find the thread that mentioned it?
Thanks!

I am sick of my rusty diff cover that needs to be painted all the time since you can see it so easily with the truck being lifted.

If the price is right, I will probably be getting one. I am changing my rear diff fluid to Valvoline Synthetic this weekend so it will not be any extra work to put this on. I like to be different and it will clean up the rear view of my undercarriage.

Looks like you got your new wheels on, very nice. Any close-ups or side-pics other than your profile pic?

I just got a response back from them and it would run $179 shipped, not exactly cheap but I might get one anyway, what the hell, you live once right? How much does it normally run for a good chrome or powdercoated diff cover? I know we are pretty limited with our choices if any aside from this clear one.

Lesley, I like the wheels, almost looks like you have hydraulics with the way your Dak sits now:) It will look really sweet once you lower it.

There is usually a powder or chrome diff cover group buy going on over at dodgetrucks.org. I don't think they are nearly as expensive as you think.
Here is the thread link if you are interested:

Steam Roller, LOL. She must handle better now though:) Thanks for the link, so they must be factory covers powder coated. I thought maybe they were like those ones with the fins which are cool looking. I might still go with the clear, but thanks again!

Hey Knobbyman, I'm located in the Detroit area (not Detroit though lol) Well it does have to fit in the oven (a reg size home electric oven, ya think a bumper would fit? Maybe if I can angle it right.

I still have to run the wire for the stove I have 220 in the garage but 110 is for the lights and the other 110 is for the outlets. I just have to get another breaker thing and bring the 2x110 back together.
I've never done this before but it doesn't look to bad, I'll definitely keep you all posted, first I'll have to join the site so I can have a cool little thumbnail, lol.
Actually I started my own little site off of tripod, I duno how Blizzard did his but mine sux lol, I haven't given up on it yet.

Those Mag-hytech Diff Covers are what I was looking for, but @ $240 + S/H I might stick with the $179 clear for the $70-80 difference or have mine powdercoated silver to match truck if that holds up better to salt and NY weather, anyone know? Paying over $50 for any "dress-up" item that goes underneath your truck is silly, but oh well.

The Mag-Hytec covers are worth the $$ if you can save it up .. For our truck it holds what 2 more quarts of oil I think. It keeps everything nice and cool. Also it's made out of thick aluminum which distributes heat alot better then chrome or Steel (don't know about glass). And it has ribbs which is always a good thing specially if it's for her. ER.. I mean DOH! For the heat transfer yea that's it.....

Group Buy would ROCK!! I just need to scrape up some $$.

I'd be in for a group buy if it knocked off a good chunk from retail! The look they give is what I have been after and if they are functional to boot, even better. If I had the time I would try an start one or at least see if they are interested in a group buy.

Knobby, now that you can see all the way underneath your truck, you will need one:) How come you haven't updated your Profile Pic?
