ok, does anyone know the procedure on making them yourself ? i would like to have a set for show/ off road use as they were never placed in production for my car in the states (but they were for a very limited time in japan from honda)

Good luck if you get a set, I got one, and within 2 weeks of installing them, I got stopped 3 times. Yes I was using red bulbs, and red refector tape. Bought em for $50, sold em for $150. ain't america great?

I almost had a pair this week, but the guy I tried to buy off of sold out his stock.
Well anyway I'm willing to pay 150.00 for clear illegal taillights that I might get in trouble for. Only because I've seen brand new Lexus SUV's sold with clear taillights with no refelectors or anything just crystal clear euro taillights. So I got intrested in them again thinking if they can get away with it then I can too.(not smart thinking, but I don't care)
Well if anyone knows where to buy some or wants to sell their pair because of too many tickets, I will take em' off your hands for 150.00 but thats with S&H.

Well I just looked at the lexus SUV closer and they got refelctors on the bumper.

If that worked then you see what I mean.
So if I do get clear tail lights I'm gonna get that led light wire that goes at the bottem of the tail gate and strap on some reflective tape to the bottom of my bumper.

Drumming up an old subject here ...
I know there was a big legal issue with the clear tail lights and they stopped making them, but has anyone seen the new Lexus RX? Below are a couple of pictues I pulled from their website and they sure look all clear to me. What gives? I'm hoping that some company can do the same type of thing for other vehicles, namely the Dakota, and meet DOT specs.
Anyone seen new ones for sale lately, or used ones for that matter?

It's legal because there are red reflectors built into the bumper.

eBay sells the all-clear tail lights often. I see atleast 4 pairs on there every week.
They usually end anywhere from $80-$165 i beleive.
They are ugly. ;)

PYE ... 4 pair a week? I've been looking for quite awhile now and have not seen any. Mostly there is only the Euro crap that is down right fugly. There is a set of all clears there now but they have a broken corner.

I have a pair of clear tail lights on my Dakota. They have only been on there for a few months. Decided to go with smoked lenses. No tickets and as far as I know there DOT legal. Well, the have never been mentioned when I have been pulled over. Will fit gen III Dakotas. Do I hear $150? If not, make me a offer I can't refuse.
