Message: Does anybody know what the best way is to get that look? I mean the brushed look into a peice of aluminum pipe?
I want to make up a couple of bars to replace the ones in my grille gaurd and am not sure if using different grits of sandpaper to get that look is the best way to go or not.
As well, should I put some kind of a protective coat of lacquer of something on afterwards. Or just leave it the way it is after I get the brushed look?

Message: I personaly havent tried that yet. but instead of using sandpaper, i would try using a wool pad (ya know the ones mama uses to clean dishes). I think using sandpaper might make it uneven & leave pits.

Message: At the grocery store, they have 3M Scotchbrite pads. We use the industrial version here at work to do just what you are talking about. They are green and 3"x5" and come two to a pack.
