Message: I just saw on high performance tv (I think it was) they were painting the interior of a chevelle, and they were using some kind of dye spray, if you have a newer Dakota (I noticed my 2002's dash board is quite plasticy) you may have to find something else, but who knows it might work.

No special paint for mine. I used Dupli-Color straight out of the spray can and no problems with it what-so-ever :-)

Message: Chuck-- Do you go in with your paint code and get the paint special ordered, or do they have it already? I am going to need some for my console and was wondering the best way to go about getting it...
p.s. could you send me any pics you may have taken of my truck at Foxwoods, I was too busy snaping all the other photos I didn't take any of my truck!
Thanks bro!!

I emailed Dupli-Color (www.duplicolor.com) with my paint code and they emailed me back with what I needed. I then went to the local Napa (Dupli-Color also has a dealer locator on their site) and told them that I needed some paint and told them the can number. They had it for me the next day and the match is almost perfect (needs a little more metal flake, but the color is perfect).

I have no experience with an airbrush nor have I ever seen one in action so I don't know if it would work or not. I don't see any reason why it wouldn't though with possibll an exception for the high build primer.
I would love to have some airbrushing done on my Dak, but that's a ways down the road.

Message: I used plastic kote touch up paint. Small can cost bout 4$. But anyways b4 u decide to paint its best to buy some plastic primer(10$ a can). Its a clear pimer and makes just about any paint stick to plastic. Also if u want it to stay on get a good clear coat on it and let it dry throughly. Looks great though. I have painted most of my dash and just started tweeding it the other day . :)

you should get into airbrushing you can do some trick S!@# with it... plus there not that exspensive... if you would like i can give you some websites for good airbrush kits....with your imagination and attention for detail you would have even more people drooling over your interior.. cheap airbrush kits are like $30 best kit ive seen is about $80

BlueCC00R/T,
I have thought about airbrushing, but my talents aren't developed enough for stuff like that. It's one thing to lay down an even coat of paint, but to do something trick is outof my league.
I have thought about setting up for painting though. Nothing major by any means, but just enough so I wouldn't have to work out of cans anymore. At the very least I'd like a compressor so I won't have to use two foot long cheater bars working on the suspension :-)
As for the last link ... thanks, but I look at my dash and what-not enough going down the road as it is. Nevermind if I start with chameleon paint and other goodies. i did save the link though in case I change my mind this winter.

Youv'e done some awesome work on your dak. Way too flashy for me. Meaning I would not go that far but I give credit where credit is due. Your dak looks sweet! I take it you show your dak. Work like that is not just for going to and from work.
