i have the over head console but it doesnt have the temperature and compass monitor. is there anywhere i can buy it and install it in my overhead?

boy alot of us would like to have one,but the truck is not wired to hook up one,the trip computer,if you find one let me know,i would use the compass,and temp,at least

A number of people have tried to add the computer after their trucks were bought, and everybody says it's a huge pain in the butt. If you didn't order the computer, then DC didn't include any of the wiring or sensors with your vehicle - you'd have to either buy (or scavenge from a junkyard) every single wire and connector and run them throughout the truck.
Probably not worth the immense effort.

As far as I know,most of the info comes from the "data port" wiring, under the dash.This will give you your gas mileage info,etc.The tempature info comes from a probe right next to the radiator support on the pass. side.Look for it,but you'll probably just find an empty plug hanging there.How much could the probe cost? $10?
I believe the compass is all internal in the actual "pod".
I bought an overhead console with the trip computer included, but never got around to installing it, now I'm selling my truck.I'll let it go for $75 if you are intrested.All you would need is a wiring diagram of the truck and a little patiance.

Dave, is it the deluxe version or the other one. My dad has a 02 ram, they have 2 versions. I have a 00 Dak and am interested in purchasing it from you.

It is the delux version and it has the mounting bracket.The trip computer has functions for :instant MPG,average MPG,outside temp,compass function,miles to empty,etc.It has two map lights,sunglass pocket and garage door opener pocket.It can also switch between U.S. and Metric display.I'm selling my dakota and just never got around to installing it.It's kind of a Pewter/Gray/Putty neutral color.It is used, but real good condition!

I managaged to pull one of these computers out of a 1996 caravan, but now I don't have the wiring diagram. Can someone tell me where I can get the diagram to put it back together.

I was at the junkyard and saw a dozen of this comp/temp computer and would like to add it to my vehicle. Does anybody have a wiring diagram for them?
