 Subject: paint question

Just recieved my new 2002 red quad cab. Part of the bumper is a black mat textured finish. Can the black be painted over with red and to produce the same smooth red finish as the rest of the bumper. The RT's come with one color bumper cover. Is it the same part number, just painted differently.

yes the bumper can be painted. I got a flame red dakota spt.......front and back bumpers painted red and grill inserts and door handles and tail gate handle and the lil strip of black on top of my ride is painted.......

just had the bumpers on my 2000 solar yellow dak sport painted as well...fairly easy and cheap.
