Those look like Street Scene chrome grill inserts. Try their website. I have some on my truck you can see using the Yahoo site below.

Ok ok, why would anyone spend tons of money on grill inserts when you can do the job yourself. Example being Nomar116 or Darkfury just to mention a couple. These guys show you everything you need to know. I just purchased a 2002 Quad 4x4, and if time permits I'll be doing the grill inserts with Gutter Guard from Home Depot next week-end. I think they look great.

I'm gonna agree with Darrell on this one!! If I hadn't already installed the Billet style grille on my Dak, I think I would have gone with the "Home Depot" kit. It's all about the Budget!! And the less I spend on doing "improvements" to my truck, the less the wife....objects.

Hey Dan,
I was just throwing out a suggestion!! No need to get all b!tchy on me. And I don't have a wife "holding" me down. But I do have other responsibilities and I just wanted to provide you with alternatives. If you don't like them, sorry bro. All I was trying to do was let you know there were options.

I got it off of ebay. It is the easiest thing to put on to your truck and you can also get a lower grille to match. I am gonna get that soon. Here is a link to ebay for the grille:

It is a take off grill from a dodge ram truck (pre 2002). Sports are black and SLTs are gray. These were gray and have been painted black.

I got them from a local custom shop who had installed billet grills on a Ram. They were in the trash can and they let me have them. they had to be cut down and I had to devise a way to attache them. I have the way I did it explained on my website at http://home.gt.rr.com/markandjanell/dakotagrill.htm .

If you don't have a customizer to willing to give/sell some, you could look in junkyards.

I put the gutter guard on my truck about 10 months ago. I notice it's faded quite a bit so I'd suggest painting it first then a coat of clear coat over it.
It's a real easy install and looks good.

I would have to agree with Dan on a few things..... The acuall street scene inserts are alot better quality than those gutter guards. I meet someone with a set of the guards on and just lookin at it.... won't take long till they are a mangled pile of poo. Too flimsy for anything. also they'll eather pit or fade way too quickly for all that work. Looks great for 6 months. Plus everyone has a set soo... how custom is it.... really! Also, when you go to a show, you see nothin but zip ties on the backside for extra show points unless you leave your hood close and thats more show points you have to make up. Mark... yours is different, I dub it customs, rest are follwers.

I have seen several home-brew inserts that looked pretty good. However, due to my laziness and lack of creativity, I bought a set of the SS inserts. I have had them on now for about 6 months and really love them. I know they are a little pricey, but I think they are worth it. They really look good on Dakotas. But that is just my opinion.

DakotaJeff, nicely done Dak! I like the suttle accents like the Ram Head on air vent fins, not overdone with too much gaudy crap(especially the engine compartment), everything is just right for my tastes.

As a very long note/Warning on the Home Depot gutter guard grille, I made one for the wives 02 Dak this past fall. I spent $15 on the gutter guard, $5 for big package of zipties, $8 for ziptimes stick on hoops and $6 for a can of clear totalling $34(comparably cheap). I removed the front bumper to do air dam holes too. I cut all pieces to fit, shaped them, cleared them(3 heavy coats) and then strategically placed stick on ziptie hoops after prepping surface with etching solution to make it all hold together. I prolly had about a good 6 hours total from start to finish and I did it over two nights due to getting dark fairly quick after work. After I got the bumper pieces installed, I realized, crap I forgot to clear them because I ran outta clear the night before! I said screw it since they were in and my hands were cut up enuff already lol and just hoped the finish would hold up.

They looked nice and shiny with many compliments. I was thinking wow. $34 + 6hours of time, great... well winter time has caused the cleared upper grille inserts to turn a faded rust color, the lowers that were uncleared look dull but are at least still silver. So much for clearing them, something in the metal didn't like the clear I guess, so now I have 4 hours of work down the tubes. Of course, I can take them apart and paint them or make new pieces, hahahaha, I don't think so! As you can imagine I am not very happy I wasted my time and money, so I just ordered the Street Scene Grille Shell with 2 piece aluminum inserts to replace the whole grille assembly. I also ordered the SS inserts to go into the SS Gen 2 bumper cover I have sitting in the shed so I can put it all on in the springtime.

Moral of my story to save possible headaches for others looking to go the cheap route, gutterguard in winter weather= short life so spend the extra dough and get billet or SS inserts if you live where it snows and salt is used.

Well, I'm going to try the gutter guard idea, however silver gutter guard on a chrome grill won't look that good.
I'm going to spray it black or grey, and I'm thiking of using the spray in bedliner to do the job.
What kind of prep is needed to get this stuff to stick to aluminum?

dakota jeff. do you think I could find material like that in home depo? I really like the looks of the bigger holes. I't looks like the apc grills you can buy for a civic but buying the apc stuff would get expensive.

but then again the apc grill material is already colored or chromed.
