Subject: Rough riding V8 Dakota IP: Logged
Message: I've got a 99 Dakota with a V8 and 5 speed manual tranny. It rides like a farm truck. Very bouncy on highway. I replaced the original shocks with aftermarket crap from Auto Zone. Where can I get decent suspenion parts that will make my truck ride like new?

Message: Sh*T, I was merely asking a simple question to receive some advice on how to make my truck ride smoother. It should ride like a new truck with independent suspension, not like an 84 Toyota 4X4 with a straight axle. Each month I see the ride degrade even further. I want to go 100 mph without the vehicle vibrating off the road. I wanted to know if others had the same problem and if they found out how to correct the problem. I didn't expect some smart-ass punk bitch to give me a ration of sh*t over a simple question. Are you old enought to drive?

Message: Weird, I have a 4.7L manual and it rides just fine. Could it be an imporoper alignment, wrong tyre pressure, etc? Vibrating off the highway at 100 seems kinda odd...

Message: I don't know if it's the extra weight of the engine possibly causing it. I've had the tires checked twice and balanced twice. The front end was aligned twice. I've replaced the shocks with heavy duty shocks but at about 75 mph the truck suspension starts to bounce slightly and gets worse with the increase of speed. I got the V8 so I could experience the increase of speed to whatever the maximum vehicle speed may be. I'm scared to go top speed due to the suspension problem. It gets going 75 mph very quickly, no complaints with the acceleration. I'd really like to get to the "Holy crap, I'm going fast!" speed, ya know what I mean? Thanks for your posts. Except for the from 1TRUCKWHAAAA. He's an ANUS!

Message: extra weight in the truck would make it ride
better...mine is as smooth as any other truck I
have ridden in, and its lowered.
I'm guessing that you should take it back and
have it inspected. I know that when I first
bought my truck the tires were way over
inflated.
