Message: Has anybody here installed the Pace Edwards Bedlocker electric tonneau cover? I'm leaning heavily towards getting one of these, but I'm curious of any drawbacks or difficulties in installation.
I've found this cover online for $985 plus $75 for shipping, so at that price it's enticing, but I want to hear from anybody with experience with these first before taking the plunge. Thanks!

Message: I don't have the Bedlocker, but I do have the regular ol' rolltop cover by Pace Edwards. It's the same concept, minus the electric motor to roll/unroll it. Installation wasn't too bad. Hardest part is getting the rails spaced right so the cover doesn't bind up when you roll it up. Only bad thing is that you lose some bed space where the canister sits ... and on a quad cab (like mine), that kinda sucks. Butttttt, it's a nice looking cover!

Message: Hey Blizzard, how weather/water proof is rool top cover? Have you had or would expect it to have problems in the winter with snow or ice? Thanks

Message: Well, today is the first day we've had any rain to speak of since I installed the cover. I'm curious to see how much water is in the box when I go home for lunch. There are small gaps where the cover meets the tailgate on each side. I don't know how much water will get in there, but otherwise it looks pretty waterproof. There are sweep seals that run along the rails along the top of the cover. I'd expect that to keep water from coming in the sides.
As far as snow goes ... i'm thinking you just brush it off and roll away! The sweep seals should keep that out too. But, I won't know for sure until winter rolls around. Plus, being a black cover, I'd think it would absord the sun's heat in the winter and melt most of the snow away on it's own.
I'll have to let you know on that one...
Seeee ya!

Message: We got 1.4" of rain here today and I had just a dribble of water in the bed towards the tailgate when I got home from work. Not bad. I'll still tweak the tailgate seal and see if I can stop the leak altogether.
So, it's pretty good at shedding water!

Message: well, i have the pace edwards roll top cover. first off i would like to say that i would rather have a hard cover. When i got the roll top i wasn't real impressed with the canister. it has metal ends and plastic sides and bottom. I think this could have been metal like the rams. I went a head and installed it and within 6 months my rails started peeling. PE replaced them with no problem (Great customer service!!!). then my roll top wouldn't roll up after 1.5 months so i got a new roll and spring...great service and replaced even after warrenty was up. It does an ok job of keeping water out but like i said i would prefer a hard one. I plan on getting a stockland cover in the next 6 months.
All i can say is just know what you want. i knew I didn't want a soft cover. i let my sis's boyfriend (a$$hole) talk me out of a hard cover...so the roll top was the best of both worlds...except on thing...i never haul anything and would like something more like a trunk...but that's just personal preference...
BTW i got it for 530??? shipped! something real close.
