Message: You should be able to poke a hole in the rubber grommet near the steering wheel to route the wires through.
What Pilot fogs did you get ?
I bought a kit from www.autoaccessory.com
http://www.autoaccessory.com/cgi-bin/ncommerce3/ExecMacro/product/AutoAccessorycom/prod2frame.d2w/report?prrfnbr=46677&prmenbr=402
This kit came with the required mounting brackets
for the Dodge Dakota, and was a fairly simple install.
The hardest part was cutting a smooth round hole in the lower valence. I used a knife to cut the
hole, and smoothed it with a dremel tool.

Message: I got a set of pilots for x-mas this year. I don't think they were designed specifically for the Dakota which made mounting them a bit of a challenge. We (my dad, uncle, and myself) mounted them by using electrical box fasteners hold the lights up to a slot in the frame. This is confusing so go take a look at my website about it. The pics aren't great, but it may give you an idea of what I am talking about.

Message: It would help to know what style fog lights you have. Different fog lights mount different ways. Also, what wires are you tryin to run through the firewall?? I have aftermarket fogs on my truck, and no wires ever get more than 6" behind the battery. Everything can be connected under the hood with no intrusion into the cabin. Unless you want a seperate switch to turn them on and off. I have mine hooked up to be on anytime the parking lights are on.

Message: HSKR,
Do you have a wiring plan for how you got the fog lights to come on with the parking lights? Sounds like a better plan than having them on a separate switch on the dash.
Thanks,
Ralph

Message: The fog lights shoudl have come with a wireing harness and a relay. The dash mounted switch is what is used to energize the relay to turn the lights on. To make the lights turn on with the parking lamps, instead of running the relay power wire through a switch on the dash, just splice it into the parking lamp power wire next to the parking lamp. WHen you turn on the parking lamp from inside the cab, it will energize the relay and make the fog lights turn on. Also will make it so you don't have to run any wires into the cab, much less past the battery.
