Hey guys. Tell me what you think of this idea. I ordered a used grill on Ebay. Paid $40 including shipping. I'm gonna gut out the crossbars. Then smooth out the holes left behind. Then make a formed insert from mesh. You can order it in sheets of whatever size you like. $5 a sq.ft. It is the company that supplies Wings West. There number is 1-909-509-1483. Looks like Speed Grills. I will post pics after all the supplies come in and the work has been done.

Um Yeah Wcomea. I have seen his site. But, I am cutting out the crossbars on the grill. To make it different from stock form. I'm doing the same idea he had for the grill. But it will be one big peice. Like the front end of F-150's. It will also be bulged out like the Speed Grills. The quality of the grill I am getting is much better as well. Doesn't look like gutter guard. It's cheap to. Give 'em a call guys.

Well actually it will. If you go to Smokin' Dakota's website you can see what it will look like. I think Steel Horse made the one he has on his truck and one other guy on his site. But, I don't want the billet insert and that is the only way they will sell it. So, I figure I'll do my own. Oh and Dark Fury. Great site on the grill inserts.

I made a custom grille (painted gloss black) with the aid of DakFury's and Wcomea's procedures. It's a mix of the two. Very simple. I rigged the hood release the same way DakFury did. I couldn't buy the mesh is single sheets, so I got a whole kit. I've got plenty of left over. Blah!

I mounted it exactly the same way that you did. Very easy to do. I've already received a few compliments on the grille from some guys standing around it when I was coming out of a auto parts store. "Does that come as an option?" I just had to smile. =) Thanks for the idea!
