ok heres what i'm in the process of doing. I'm painting my intereior: dash, the plastic part beside the windshield(dunno what its called), the bottem panel beside the floormats(u know where they hide the infinity amp) proboly around my door handles and maybe the console on the floor. And anything else i think that might look good that i can get out of there to paint. Anyways i'm painting it a blue color. I think its like pearl blue(its a GM blue, u know the bright blue there trucks come in). My truck is a 2000 flame red dak spt:R/T rims, running boards, tonneau cover and got my front grille inserts and bumper painted red. So considerin all this do u think the blue will match the red...and do u think this is a good idea. I just got done painting my dash and the lip around my radio(pansonic). So far i love the color and the way it looks inside, just cant decide if i like the way it matches up with the red. As soon as i get finished with it i will try to post sum pics. Sry for the novel i wrote........thanx for any input....

well thats y i have not yet decided on the color. But hell if i go yellow can we say "import" ands i dont wanna do red all over. I think i'm just gunna finish with blue and see if i like it if not, no problem to repaint it all over again.........but anyways.....thanx

First of all I wouldn't even think of painting my interior but if and that's a huge IF I did the only two colors that i would use with red would be yellow and orange.

Funny..im painting my dash bezel right now..just waiting for it to dry as i type this...I have a poppy-red 98 and i went down to the ol' automotive paint store, they mixed me up the exact match colour for my truck (pr4) and put it in an aerosol can (spraybomb)..the cost was only $16 (canadian price) for a full size can. you can get it in an acrylic enamel or base clear (which i went with as thats the paint of the daks..) it turned out good so far..
first thing you have to do is wash it really really good (say with palmolive..) and get any dirt out...especially armor-all etc...
then you should sand it down with about an 800 grit sandpaper, till it gets all crappy looking,
then i washed it again to be sure i didn't grind in any dirt.
Then you should use a primer for plastic (usually this is a clear primer/adhesive promoter) and give her about 3-4 coats with each coat drying fully.
After its finished being primered, i sanded again with 1200 grit sandpaper to get the small imperfections out, and so the paint will get a good grip....
i should be finished by tomorrow cause each coat dries very quickly... i'll let you guys know how it turns out..
I also see a dak at a local speed show with his painted the same as his truck..and i have to admit..it looks awesome, and if you dont like it you can always pick up another at the boneyard

yes yellow was gunna be my first choice....however there a truck in my town thats looks alomost like mine and hes already done yellow.......so i was gunna do the flame red thing but they didnt have any and i didnt want 2 diff colors of red...........well i am now 1/2 way finish with the paint job.......and i guess everyone got thier opinion but i think it looks good.........hell if i change my mine it wont be no problem to sand and resart or like the other guy says just goto the junkyard and get some more pieces........anyways thanx for the input......laterz
