Come on.... Give up the story! whats your worst mod you ever did to any Car/Truck!
Mine would be ........ none cause I'm FLAWLESS!!!!
ok ok ok ........mine would be...... um...... god ...... there are soo many.....
OK, I had this Super Beetle when I was in highschool. Instead of buying the right stuff to drop it, I figured if I heated up the springs A LITTLE,I could squeeze a 1 1/2..... 2 inchs. And with such a little drop, I wouldn't mess up the suspention!
3 hours and 5 inches later, I drove out with only 1 inch of clearance from the frame to the ground on very loopy springs. See, I would start on one spring and try to match it with the other and back and forth and back untill I got a little bit more than what I wanted. did'nt really realize it untill we put it back on the ground. I had to drive it like for a week untill I could get to a junkyard and buy new springs
OMG...... and the shakes it would get!!!!! I swear at 30mph , the steering wheel would move back and forth at least 45 degrees
DEFENTLY learned my lesson!

Tried to downgrade my 87 bronco's steering
by switching from power steering to regular.
Actually, I got stuck in the sand, had some
scrap metal under the rear wheels and had
the front wheels cranked all the way w/full
throttle trying to get out...did I mention the
hood was open...BOOM it was like a power
steering fluid shower! I succeeded with
removing the power steering, bronco felt way
more solid in the corners LOL
sorry wasnt the worst mod, just the dumbest
thing I've done.
worst mod i've done to the dak...JETCHIP!
what a waste of money.

I had a 1993 Ford Explorer 4x4 before my first Dak. Went to put a exhaust on it. I decided to exit it right in front of the rear tire with a 12" glasspack mounted backwards.(louvers facing back). It sounded like a bumble bee with a hard on. One sound, different tone. Horrible.
Best mod- My first truck 1985 toyota truck 4x4. I took off the bed and cut about a foot off the frame. Just enough to clear the shackles. Best thing for performance and off-roadability. Plus I could spin em in 2nd with the 4cyl!!

my worst mod was I had a 1986 VW Jetta 2dr. I had put hood pins on it to make it look cool. I had them on until I was 17, then relized they were not cool and sold the car to 16 yr old at school that thought the hood pins made it look fast.

Disconnected the exhuast straight out of the manifold on '88 V6 Scorpio.
OUCH!
Nearly rattled the interior to pieces.
Put back together the next day!

Bought new in "79" a Chevy swb van. I had to install 60 series tires all around (cooool). Needless to say dad thought I was nuts. Would'nt you know it, the old man was right. Tore the crap out of the front tires on the first big bump. Man what was I smokin.

WHEN I WAS 17 I TOOK A SABRE SAW TO THE HOOD OF A 73 CUTLASS, USED THE FLEXIBLE CHROME DOOR EDGE MOLDING TO COVER THE SAW EDGES, AND BOLTED A TRANS-AM SHAKER SCOOP TO THE UNDER SIDE OF THE HOOD. WHAT THE H*LL WAS I THINKING?

When i ordered my truck i order a set of those piece of $hit molded fiber glass running boards. O yahh, they sound good, but scratches the hell out of the body. It now has spaces in places it shouldnt. hmmmmmm....maybe it has sumthing to do with the time i ran over an already dead dog(big dog!!) by mistake then, dragged one of the running boards bout 30 miles.........hahahaha.....but i gotta give it credit it just popped right back into place!!!

My worst mod would have to be on my second car (1991 Eclipse Turbo GST) after the stock engine locked up at 116,000 i replaced it with a Jap spec Mitsubishi Lancer turbo/intercooled engine (USED) and that engine blew up spark plugs all the time at full boost/throttle. So i traded it in for my 2001 Dak Sport cc 2WD Pat.Blue Clear corners, custom grille, tinted windows, soft tuneaue cover, 3&5 inch lowering kit, and a 12" Kicker Solo Baric and a RF 1000 watt amp.

My worst modification was on an 87 Iroc Camero. I wanted a larger radiator with two fans instead of the one fan it came with because those cars were notorious for overheating and in the hot summer you could barely feel the A.C. evening blowing at 110 outside.
Anyhow, picked one from Track Auto installed it. Didn't drive it further than about 5 minutes on the freeway and the car started making this really bad knocking sound. I look at the gauges and saw that the temp gauge was redlined hot. About two seconds later the whole engine shut off and I coasted to the side of the road. Needless to say, that engine was replaced because it had melted itself together.
The cause of the problem, the new radiator was clogged in one of the vent wholes. Track Auto wouldn't pay for anything in my car except to replace the bad radiator. Some dumb exclusion clause in the warrenty paper work. Anyhow, I was out about $4500 bucks for a new engine. I only bought the car 6 months prior for $6000, man I was so pissed.

My worst mod was 24 years ago. I dropped a 1/4" lock washer down the throat of an edelbrock tarrantula intake manifold on top of my freshly rebuilt small block chevy motor. It was the first motor that I totally rebuilt, new 11:1 pistons, "fuelie heads", solid lifters, 3/4 cam, holley 750 dual feed, every nut and bolt replaced, it was gonna be real sweet, Ha-Ha!! I primed the oil pump, set the distributor and fired her up. I'll never in my life forget the horrifying sound of that washer going from cylinder to cylinder before I immediately shut it down- too late- the damage was done:-(
I tore it back down found the remnant of the lock washer welded to the dome on top of one of the pistons, still have it as a 'trophy of stupidity'.

hands down...granted I havent done that many but wow!!!! annoying noise and didn't do anything except make it shift unsmoothly

also torsion bar lowering...did work, but really screwed up my ride quality...funny though a 6/0 drop lol i still think its uneven but not too bad
anyone know what happens if you crank them to the top? is it good ride quality?? it won't go higher then the back right? think I'll try
dropping 4x4s lol retarded hehe
