I've been looking at getting a new hood, and I saw this style a few days ago but didn't remember where the pic was. Well I found this pic and was wondering which hood this was and where I could get one from? Thanks.

Yep reflexxions cowl hood. Its real nice. That is actually Jason Francis 99 R/T. I saw it just the other day and the hood fits real nice too..

Just to get the group's opinion. I just got the cowl hood pictured above. Was wondering if it would look cool to put the 4.7HO badges on the sides of cowl. Like that guy has the 5.9 badges.
What do ya'll think?

Is there a 4.7 HO decal??? FYI the stock VIPER emblem fits nicely in the stock recess area on a OEM hood and looks like it will fit on this cowl type too. They are alot cooler looking than the plastic ram head and come in lots of colors....Most Dodge dealers stock them for $40-50.

Mark Crisler- I believe there IS a 4.7HO badge. It's on the Grand Cherokee's w/the 4.7HO. 'I think'. Ya'll think it would look cool?
D- The rams head decal on the hoods are stuck on. There are two metal studs that go inside the hood, but they don't attach to anything,,,just guides I guess. There is like a 3M adhesive on the backs of the Decals. I believe w/a little 'love' they should just pry right off.

Well if you take a flat screw driver and pry you will end up at primer or worse as Dodge just puts enough paint on the trucks to change colors. Best bet to remove adhesive based emblems is 12 lbd test fishing line it will cut the 3M tape but not the paint. Only draw back is the recess in the stock hood for the emblem so fishing line is hard to get into the recess. If you can't pull that off try wrapping a small drill bit about a 1/4" nso it will pierce the plastic but not damage the paint. Then simply stick a small flat head screw driver in the hole and pull that ugly ram head off!!!!!! Just make sure you slightly flatten the Viper emblem (wrap it in a diaper and step on it)so the new 3M tape will stick as good as the one you took off... no body said perfection was easy-but it's always worth it especially at car shows when people ask "DOES IT HAVE A V-10!

Well Zendak, daCREWta Mark thinks the 4.7HO decal would look cool since I have always (not trying to get the R/T 5.9 vs 4.7 B.S. going again!) found the 4.7 to be more a more advanced power plant. Dodge shed .5 liters over the old 5.2 and picked up lots of H.P. especially with a ram air and a paxton. BUT count me in on the new 2003 RAM with the 500 HP Viper V-10. Sorry Lighting there's a NEW KING in town!!!!!!

Amen,,,I be's have'n one of the SRT-10's. Oh-yes,,,it will be mine. Unless they come out with hell-A-cious Dakota in the near future.
I don't think you would have to worry tooooo much about damaging the surrounding paint when pulling off the Ram's head. I mean the new badge will cover it. You will still have to pry a little even if you use the fishing wire, as there are two metal posts that stick out of the emblem itself anyway,,,and you won't be able to get the fishing wire in there.
Heck....take it easy. Buy a new hood,,,paint it,,,and stick a new emblem on there! hehehee
Mark- do you have any picks of your viper emblem? I've never seen one, and curious what it looks like on a Dak.
Get hood painted manana! I'm happy,,but it's going to rain like a mother the next couple of days here (TX) sux.

Sorry Zendak my oem hood made way for the "shaker" from Pro Glass with no need for the emblem. How ever it is now on the radiator support as a warning of the ram air's bite! The 4.7 HO on a puffy sticker might be a much. Does it come as individual letter by letter decal like the 5.9 or R/T ?

I hope so. I don't like the one posted above too much. I just want the lettering and no background. I really want the one I saw on the jeeps at the '02 auto show that came to town a couple of months ago.
Truck should be all painted today! Me so happy. Can't pick her up till manana though,,,and it's gonna be raining. Dang.
