Subject: Dakota or durango? IP: Logged
Message: I am planning on buying a dakota or a durango soon. I want to know the best suspension lift for either to run 30570r16s on an 8 to 10 inch rim. Not just a lift to get the tires under it but to have good off road ability without having to trim anything. Also is the 5.7 Hemi going to be an option in either soon? Thanks.

Message: for 2000+ dakota/durangos, the only quality lift avalable is a body lift which will allow you to run 33 by 12.50 in tires on a 8in rim.
other than the body lift, a straight axle swap would be your only choice.
another option would be to buy Born2Steals dakota which is already lifted and has a locker...

Message: The hemi is not an option yet but will be in 2004 but thenm the Dakota is getting a face lift so the lifts for it will be a while if it has taken 3 years for the newest dakotas with rack and pinion steering so?????? I have a 2000 dakota with truckin Suspension 4.5" suspension lift and I have 34" Trexus MT tires but I had to trim, but we could maybe fit 33" with no trimming. I know that others have had a prob with truckin lifts but mine is fine. See my truck at www.samsoffroad.com then click Vehicle Showcase then Chad Sidler.
