This is the reply I got when I e-mailed Rancho about a 2wd lift for 97+ Daks:

Thank you for your interest in Rancho products. We have plans currently for the 4 wheel drive Dakota, however until we have a large enough demand will we consider a 2 wheel drive kit. I will place your name on our mailing list which will inform you if we do plan to release a kit. For further information on Rancho products, contact a distributor in your area. What are the execs. at Rancho thinking??? If they had any idea how much money Fabtech is making off of us and how many body kits we settle for they would HAVE to put out a lift. This is really discouraging.

Sorry, didn't mean to give the wrong impression. I know Fabtech is an awesome and dependable company and I'll be getting their lift when I have the funds, I was just trying to point out the lack of options from their competitors. I wish other companies would indulge the 2WD Dakota crowd with more to choose from. Plus, other people had posted regarding Rancho's possible development of a lift for us, but the email I received discredits those rumors. Sorry for the confusion,
