Subject: Torsion bar and shocks IP: Logged
Message: Any one know if it would help the ride significantly to get taller shocks after a torsion bar lift of 1 1/2 inches or so. I am wondering if the ride would be much better since the shocks would actually be within their normal range of motion if they were longer.

Message: David: I think 4wDakota might know something about this. He also has a torsion bar lift, I believe. I am curious, is a torsion bar lift something that can be done to a 2WD? Or a better question... is there a time when torsion bar lift can't be done?

Message: The stock shocks will be fine with the lift. Aftermarket shocks are made for 0-1" of lift.
Torsion bar lift is an easy way to get 1-2" of lift on a 4x4. For a 2wd you can get some 2" Daystar coil spacers. Once again, stock shocks will work too.
