Subject: anyone have a truckin suspension lift? IP: Logged
Message: does anyone have a truckin suspension lift for a 00-up dakota (rack and pinion)? if so...any complaints? or is my best bet to just go with a 3'' body lift. any input would be helpful.
thanks

I sold my truck because of that lift... It Ruins everything that has to do w/ drive train and suspension.. True it does work... after alot of convincing but it wears all your parts after about 1 month :-\ It's really crappy...

Message: Hey my truckin Suspension lift is working fine and I have had it for almost 2 months and have found no probs and I go off-roading alot. The suspension lift is a whole lot more money than a body but with the 4.5" lift you vcan fit 34" like I did. O by the way I have a 2000 dakota.

Message: I have a 00' dakota with a 6.5" truckin suspension lift and a 3" body lift. the lift has been on for about three months and i haven't had one problem. One side effect is the vibration in the steering wheel because i haven't found a way to install steering stabilizers on the tie rods.I run 38 superswampers and still no problems.

Message: Mitch is right, with that much tire and lift, you really need more than just stock stuff to stabilize the whole thing.
holy crap though mitch, that's a big truck you got, can't wait to see it.
rivermanic, chad has posted pics on a few different posts on the site, just look around for Chad Sidler i believe his name is.

Message: Your rack and pinion is NOT a steering stabilizer, it is the type of steering system your truck has. I repeat it is not , and does not act as , a steering stabilizer in any way shape or form! It`s only function is to turn your tires left or right.
And we would all LOVE to see some pictures of your trucks with these lifts on them , and an update about 6-8 mo. from now to see how they hold up , and if you are still so happy about them.

Message: Chad I'm glad your truck is working out for you. But what about someone w/ Rack & Pinion?
There are lifts available for the 2000 model that's nothing special. Infact the close up pictures I've seen of that lift looks exactally like the Tuff Country lift.
To all of you that have the TS lift. Watch your brackets make sure they aren't bending I had to replace every one of my brackets in the few months that I had my truck. Also Chad w/ those 34's watch your Torsion bars. They are going to faid fairly quickly. When you do need to replace them you might want to get the heavy duty ones. Unfortunatelly I don't have a link for them anymore but you should be able to talk to your local Dodge Serivce guy and they should be able to let u know where you can get them (if they are any good anyway).
Good luck to all of you. But if your debaiting between the Rancho & the Truckin-Suspension lift.. Go w/ the Rancho. There service and reputation is ALOT better.

Message: Chad how bout some close up pictures of the mounting brackets and stuff?
I mean quite honistly I could have photochoped my truck w/ a black CC and made it look just like that I'm not saying you did.. But I'd like to see if they actually did change any of the brackets or anything.
Truckin Suspension is a black name in my book and always will be unless they give me my truck back that I had to sell because of there crappy lift that one of there moron installers put on. But that's just me doing alittle venting.
I'd really like to think they aren't that shady but I can't help but think it. Show me some close ups PLEASE!! ;-)

Message: Good luck Bill .. as long as you know what your getting into.
I don't think you'll be able to fit 35's. There is no way I was going to be able to on mine and I had the 4.5" lift which was actually 6". If they measured the 6.5" lift the same way you'll probably get about 8" out of it and you might be able to. No way to know until you try. What ever shop is installing it have them test fit some 35's. If they don't fit don't buy them. If they do.. Have at it. Or you could just test fit them to see how they look and then buy them from a place that's less expensive.
Good luck.. Take plenty of pictures of the install.
