I would go Rancho they are the best for lifts. Don't know if they make one for your car or not so you will have to check it out.

No Rancho does not make a 2wd lift for the Dakota or the Gen II.

Rocky Mountain Suspension Products lists the kit at $1,800 http://www.rockymountainsusp.com/dodge_dak4WD.htm I don't understand the recommendation of 35's on their site though. I have the 4" kit AND 2" body lift on my `95 and still get tire rub when I stuff a front tire at full lock (turn). Might be able to call them and haggle a better price. The kit does require an increased off-set (deeper wheel or spacer for your stockers). So yea, to go along with Bucket, "total" cost will run up over $2 grand.

Your right Bill the idea of 35s is crazy, i got 32s and a 3" body lift on top of the Trailmaster suspension lift and my torsion bars had to be cranked all the way up to keep the tires from rubbing the back side of the wheel well,my rims are 3.75 back space so i have no problems rubbing the frame, but i couldnt see getting 35s comfortably in there and if you did you would have no articulation and probably need new front quarter panels with a wider wheel well cut out, it was bad enough that i had to extend all my brake lines and my stick shifter and all the other minor nick-nacks that came along with going high, not to mention the 6 ssv shocks that i still have in the box because i opted for Bilstiens instead. apparently the shocks in the kit were too short anyway so if you can find the lift minus the shocks that would be the way to go.

Agreed, my 33's rubbed with the 4" suspension, 3" body and cranked bars. The 87-96 Dakota is too small and the front axles are too far back in the wheel wells.

If Dodge had made the wheel base 2" longer by moving the front axle forward, there would be more room for bigger wheels and most of the guys who do Solid Axle conversions move the front forward 2". I'm actually designing something a little bit more extreme with my SAS but I don't want to let the cat out of the bag just yet. But so far, it looks good on paper

I moved my front axle forward about 2 1/2 inches and gained alot more room when we did my SAS on a 99 Dakota.

Yea, but going by your handle, I assume you have an 03 SXT 4x4 which is an "AN" body Dakota. We were discussing cowboy's question which was about the earlier "N" body (87-96) Dakota. The "N" body has a much smaller and squarer wheel well and a 31 is a tight fit at stock height. A 32" wouldn't fit without modifications.
