 Subject: 31 inch Tires

I have a 93 Club Cab 4X4 V8 Auto. The stock tire is a 29.5 inch tall 235/75-15 I know 31X10.5X15 will fit but will they throw off the computer too much. Any help Please before I spend the money.

Just going from previous posts, going up from a 255 to a 275 would throw your speedo off by about ~4%. So from a 235 to a 265 would be about ~6% - I'm guessing. Don't quote me on it but it should be fairly close.

I had stock 31" tires and went to 34" tires and it only threw me off bye aboput 1 mil or 2.

I put 31's on mine and no change in the sppedo at all. Dakotas originally could come with 215/75/15, 235/75/15 or 31x10.5x15 so it was just a matter which tire and rim combo they decided to put on that day at the factory.. You have no prob upgrading.

i have a 93 and put some 31x10.5" a/t's on and even though there is a slight difference, its nothing to worry about.

My 2000 Dakota came with 255x65x15 installed as part of the option package. I upgraded to 31x10.50x15's and at 50 mph I am about 6 mph slower than the radar trailers on the sides of the road claim I am going. Hope that helps.

No you dont need a lift kit. I have a 97 dakota sport with 31/10.5/15 and they fit fine, you can even go bigger...
