Subject: lifting rear of 2wd dak. IP: Logged
Message: since I have added my 2 inch coil spacers to the front of my truck I have noticed that the front end sites lower than the back, and it has finally gotten on my nerves. when I measured the gaps between the top of my mt and the bottom of the wheel wheel. well the front is 2inches higher than the back when I measured. wtf I didn't have this problem when I had 2 inch drop blocks in the back.
after looking at getting lift shackles I am unsure of this as I beleive I will have to grind the stock rivets off(intense 39 said he removed his with a hex bit and torch wrench but all the posts i've seen refer to torches or cutting) to put them on plus I think it will throw the pinion off.
I was thinking of adding add a leaves from rough country but I'm worried about tacking the leaf springs apart. If my thinking is correct wouldn't a set of air lift air bags lift the back end up the same as add a leaves? I read some previous posts and noticed people said it would raise the back end up but my questions is how much? if it can add 1000+ pounds of leveling ability for cargo it has to raise it up.
I dont want to alter the truck that much and have always done modifications I could liquidate later so the bags seem the best if anyone has opinions or experience about bags or to what is a better aproach please post a reply.

Message: now that I look at it the shackles on there with hex nuts, but the ratchet I have doesn't have nearly enough leverage to try and loosen them.
so were do I get some lift shackles.

Message: i got my 2 inch lift shackes from AIM company..which is now truckinsuspension...overall, they are a good quality part and lifted it 2 inches. I know that company has alot of complaints on this site, but some of their products are actually "ok" :)

Message: from all the instructions I've seen for the add a leafs they said to take the spring pack apart. but in that case the add a leaf may be a better wat to go. the bolts for the shackles are on there good. lol couldn't even get them to budge.
