Subject: Cranking Torsion Bars? IP: Logged
Message: Hello,
I have a 98 Dakota Sport with the 5.2 V8. I have seen in several posts talk of cranking torsion bars to get a bit of extra lift.
Can somebody explain how this works to me? Is it safe? How will the ride change?
Thanks!

Message: the torsion bars connect to the lower a arms and to the frame of the truck.
they are actucally twisted to apply downward pressure on the front end
I cranked my up (not all the way) and got an inch and a half of lift on the front end.
just keep in mind, the more lift ya get the stiffer the front suspension will be, it does ride alot rougher
