Message: Hero - Could you please get me the name of the shop and find out how much in labor and parts (minus the front diff) it would be for just the front end.
Truckin's Lift is giving me a SERIOUS headach and I'm beginning to go insaine.
If I can pay off enough on my credit cards I'm ready to switch to a solid axle (Bleh I can see this lift is going to cost me well over $10,000 now) SOB I'm going to need a 2nd job.
Anyway Your truck is going to look SWEET!!!
I can't believe ur putting a rockwell under it.

Message: hey hero, dude, Avalanche Engineering Inc. has awsome rockwell products like a new skid pan. matter of fact here's a descripion (copy and paste) from thier website: "The Deuce skid, a tough high clearance replacement skid for the bottom of your military iron, offers an additional 1.25" of clearance at the Bull gear, and huge clearance over stock at the bearing caps. Deuce Skids also add the advantage of replacing the thin dent-prone stock skid."....."Skids are erected from high pressure 1/4" and 3/8" steel. The main skid covering the Bull gear is 3/8". The remaining structure is built from 1/4". Skid is completely welded on the outside and the interior. The combination of skilled production and the highest quality materials ensures impervious protection for your Bull gear an the ability to clear and slide over the big rocks."...."Deuce Skids are $187.00 each
*
Avalanche recommends removing gear assembly before installation.
*
Deuce Skids require welding for installation."
here the site for it http://www.avalancheengr.com/Skids/deuce_skids.htm
they also have:
- High Steering Arms
- Pinion Brake
- Wheels
these guys build this $hit to last and take abuse for professional rock crawling.

Message: uhhh, ok hugo, don't really know where that came from, not everyone in Mississippi is a racist, and there's no reason he shouldn't be able to do his lift cause of the state he lives in. I don't think all people in MS are barefoot starving white oppressors, but then again ive never been to MS :)
then again, since im from california i must be some blonde mentally retarted surfer or some freakin hippie progressive nut case who wants to shut down the fossil fuel industry and live in the back of my volkswagon love bus.
anyways, on a lighter note, the truck sounds awesome, what type of suspension are your going to run? Coil-overs, leafs? anything else you gonna change like say the Transfer case or engine preformance?
keep us posted!

Message: arthur , you can plainly see he has a leafspring set-up in the pictures , that are attached to the big rectangular tube (BIGTYMER)up front , which appears to be a mounting point for the springs. And yes it is actually on the truck. If you look at the axle in the last pic. , you can see the militarys are square not round like most axles are , so he would have needed a lagre degree shim to get the proper align. of the front drive shaft and related steering components. With the large tube it let him drop down the front of the spring to help lift the truck higher , without a stiffer spring , and also help make the axle in a better position by rotating in without shims. Trust me , when this monster is finished , no one will even see the tube , they will be in shock .
