Subject: tire size for my 6" lift IP: Logged
Message: WHAT DO YOU GUYS SUGGEST FOR TIRE OPTION. I HAVE A 97 V-6 SLT 2WD THAT I'M GETTING A 3"FABTECH AND 3" BODY LIFT. I AM PLANNING ON USING 15 X 7 EAGLE 589 WHEELS, DUE TO THE BACK SPACING, AND I WANT TO GO WITH 33 X 10.50 BFG A/T'S. WILL I HAVE TO CHANGE MY GEARING OR CAN I GO TO 32 X 11.50 WITHOUT CHANGING THE GEARING. WHAT DO YOU SUGGEST?

Message: Hey Nick, I have a 2001 2wd Quad Cab and am running 33x12.50R15 Swamper SSR's on 15x10 Weld Racing Sidewinder rims. With the lift combo you mentioned, you'll be able to run 33's with a bunch of fender trimming (probably not so much on a 15x7)or a 32" tire with no problem. I was the first to use coil spacers to get another 2" so I could run the Swampers on a 15x10. Depending on what your factory gears are (mine are 3.92), you probably won't have to switch them out if you're tires don't go bigger than 33's. I turn mine without a problem. Check out my site (www.geocities.com/quad2nv)for some pics of my setup and judge for yourself.
