Message: Did my lift in my driveway. It's real easy. Hand tools and a drill with a good set of bits for remounting the rear bumper.
Get a pice of threaded rod to extend the shifter, I welded mine because I had access to a welder and it was more of a pain. Just use threded rod and a coupler nut.
My 33's don't rub offroad. Clearance for the fenders and bumper is very good. Make sure you pull your bumper as far out as possible before you bolt it back up after the lift.
The only place they rub is at hard turns they rub in the front against the frame. The reason for that is because I have stocks rims and they sit pretty far in. It doesn't hinder anything except for really tight turns. I can turn my steering wheel 1 full turn in either direction. At about 1 1/4 turns it will start to rub. Try this in your truck, it still gives you a tight turning radius. I've trained myself not to turn the wheel more than one turn.

Message: aight man, i appreciate it, do i have to crank the torsions? and how are the 33 BFG ATs goin for ya, good milelage on them? im still contemplating whether i should do the 3" body and 33's, If i do it, its gonna be when these wilderness AT 31 tires wear out (brand new when i got the truck bout 2 months ago), that way ill just do the lift and tires at once, i love the look, but hardly ever do real off-roadin, and i just enjoy the fact i have 4x4, but ne way, thanks, L8ER!

Message: You don't have to crank the bars. It didn't rub before. I just wanted it to be more level. My back end is still 1/2" higher but it's better than it was. I don't even have 3000 miles on my A/T's. They are really quiet. They are better in the mud than everyone said they would be, actually they pulled damn good in the mud. They also grip the road a lot better than the stock goodyears.

Message: Can someone give me an estimate on how much a 3" lift plus 4 33" tires would cost. I dont plan on spending much. Or maybe a 2" lift with 33s or 32s. Thanks boys

Message: The P.A. body lift is $150 - $170 and is much better than the Trailmaster kit. I paid $200 for the lift and lift lips. The tires were about $130. Alignment after cranking torsion bars was $50
All together:
4 tires, mounted balanced $600
Body lift $200
Torsion Bar lift $ 0
Alignment $ 50
Total $850
My tires are 33 x 12.50 x 15's

Message: I think I turned the passenger side like 10 turns and the drivers side 4. The passenger side on my truck was about an inch lower than the drivers side. It took a couple of turns on the pass. side to level it and then I started cranking both sides until it came up an inch.
It handle great. I think it was set too soft from the factory. With the heavier tires it rides perfect now. I could still get another inch out of them with little effect on the suspension angles. Some guys with the new rams that have IFS have cranked theirs up 2.5" and they like it. It all depends on how your's are set from the factory.

Message: Only problem I ran into when I cranked up my torsion bars on my '97 was my lower shock bolts breaking because the front susp. tops out way too easy. Be very careful if you are going to crank them alot.

Message: hey man i dont know if you thought about this but the pass side is lower cause it doesnt always have your weight in the truck so with you sitting in it usually levels it out, not that i didnt crank my pass side more then the drivers.

Message: Dont spend the money on new rims because when you put 33s on your truck your gonna notice that you now dont have anymore power and will need to re-gear and thats gonna put a hurt on your wallet, and you will be glad Bucket told you to save the extra duckets.Unless of course your truck came stock with 3:92 gears.then the choice is yours,i would go 32.....more articulation.

Message: Ive got a 97 Dakota with 33' and a 3" lift. I'm also experiencing
some frame rub which is kind of annoying on tight switchbacks.
Would a quality set of wheel spacers fix this problem? If so, how
many mm's?
