Message: yooo.... i have been reading and found out what all-thread and the coupler are.
during my reading i have found that a torque wrench seems to be necessary. is this so? if so, where do i get the torque specs to tighten the bolts at?
thanks

Message: Torque specs for all the bolts are in the instructions. If I remember correctly all the body bolts should be at 55 lb-ft, but check the instructions to be sure.
A little advice...
Lift the cab first, then the bed. There is no room for adjusting the position of the cab realtive to the mounts, but there is room to adjust the bed. Doing the cab first ensures you can get the bed lined up properly relative to the cab.
On torqueing correctly: once you've got everything lined up correctly and all the bolts installed fairly tight, go back one by one and pull the bolt, then put the thread-loc on it and torque. If you put the thread loc on when you first install the bolt, the bolt will already be locked in by the time you come back and try to torque it properly. It takes a little longer, but it ensures you get a good torque reading on your wrench.
Have a good assortment of sockets on hand, both normal and deep, and an extension socket as well...the bed and cab bolts are two different sizes (either 17 & 19mm, 18 & 19mm, or 17 & 18mm, I forget which combo), and some are easiest to get to with a short socket, some with the deep, and on some an extension makes it easier to get more room for swinging the wrench.
A big bucket comes in handy for draining the coolant.
A friend comes in handy for re-installing the bumpers. And for re-installing the fuel filler neck...one person under the truck pushing up on the neck, and one person up top to put in the screws.
A big block of wood helps out when jacking the body, as does a jack that has a lot of travel.
Removing the fan shroud is a PAIN! No good advice to make it easier.
And don't forget to remove the screws holding the fuel filler neck to the body BEFORE lifting the body.
And lastly, make sure your steering extension is on tight! Some people have complained that their steering got all loose and sloppy after the body lift...I'd bet that it's because the sterring extension wasn't on as tight as is humanly possible.

Message: Sorry, no pic of the linkage, and my truck is several thousand miles away right now so I can't take a pic. And in response to your other post, I've heard of people using threaded extensions and it seems like it would work just as well as welding.
