Subject: is the body lift too $$$ IP: Logged
Message: I have a dakota v6 2wd and I got a quote on a body lift, they will install it and bring up the back bumper and put the new tires on(installing the tires).
Is it too much to pay for when they want $565.00 for (just) the lift. What did you pay? Or what should i go for?

Message: That includes the price of the body lift and mounting and balancing 4 tires , or just bolting the tires (already on rims) on the truck?
How much are they charging you for just the labor to install the lift?
If you tell us the breakdown of the $565 , you`ll get more honest answers.

Message: Body Lift - Parts $180 Labor about $200.
Each tire - Mounting + Ballancing = $20.
So it's alittle bit on the high side but not to bad.
Might try and get them down alittle more. Check w/ a tire shop to see how much they'd charge you to mount and ballance. Then check w/ the 4x4 shop to see how much they'd charge you for ONLY labor. Then find out how much they charge you for the parts. You can order the body lift from 4wheelparts for $180.
Basically.. find out how much they are charging you for everything. Because that does seam high..
BTW my $20 guess for the tires.. Is just a Guess. The Labor and parts for the body lift I've been quoted before.
