Subject: Got 5 inch of lift!!! IP: Logged
Message: ok i have all the parts (3in body and 2in coils) sitting in my room. I have a 2000 2wd v6 CC and before i go and install the PA body lift, there are some questions i need to ask.
1) since i have a 2wd, there is no shift transfer case linkage, correct?
2)Is it neccesary to drain the coolant?
3)Is it neccesary to remove and cut the fan shroud and unplug all the wires? (i read somewhere that there is enough slack, thought it might be faster to leave them be)
4)were there any steps you skipped because you found that it was not needed?
Thanks all

Message: i just did the pa lift on the same truck as yours. your right the transfer case is only on 4wd. I dont see the need in draining the coolant, my hoses were fine. you may want to go ahead and unplug those sensors it only takes about thirty seconds but the wires should be long enough. and you definitly need to cut the fan shroud, i did this with a dremel and a cut tool. if you do it this way you dont need to take off the fan but you must cut the shroud before you start lifting.
The only other thing that you might need to check is to make sure that you have an allen wrench for the steering extension and an 18mm socket for the bumbers. out of all 5 socket sets that i had not one had an 18mm.
hope this helps some if you need more info just ask

Message: The overload spacers are mainly for if you tow alot or haul heavy loads. Since i don't ever haul or tow, i didn't use those. Still got em in case. Good luck with the steering arm extender. Damn that thing was hard to get on. Spend 4 hours on it alone. Tried a hammer at last and hammered it in. I had put the bolt on the wrong way and found that out when my steering wouldn't turn fully, bolt was hitting the frame...haha...so i flipped it on the right way with some locktight and lift was done. Not bad....12 hours of work but worth the knowledge.

Message: i havent had a chance to put thos overload spacers in yet and everything seems normal. thats right about the arm extender. i ended up using the dremel again and took a little bit out of the inside of the coupling. i didnt see any other way of doing it.

Message: when you take off the shaft you will see a noth in one side where the original bolt went through. all you have to do is line up where your bolt is on the extension and where the grove is on the adapter. just be prepared it is tight.

Message: well i finished most of the body lift. im having trouble with the steering shaft, the steering wheel locked up and now i cant position it on to the extension and rack. im thinkin its cuz of the power steering and hopefully once i start the car it will unlock, but since i took the battery out ill have to wait till tomorrow to tackle that job. then im off to sears to get 32in bfg ATs, there on sale fore 119. after the tires, ill mount the 2in coil lift. im pretty excited but also exhausted.
