Message: Is there on? Who makes it? Where can I find it? How much? Bought a club cab in april 2001 and I was told by everyone that they were working on it so I settled for a 3 on the body. Thanks in advance.

Message: Ok, it's late and i'm bored, so even though the answer to this question can be found in past posts, i'll answer it.
The new dakotas have a choice of 4 lifts. One you have with the in the form of a body lift, and there are also 3 suspension lifts available from truckin suspensions. As of now there are no reliable lifts on the market. a guy named Knobbyman on this board bought the 4.5" suspension lift from TS and it ended up being a total waste of money. Another guy supposedly got the 6.5" suspension lift from them, but we have no idea if it's true cause he isn't a normal poster on this site.
There is also a 9.5" lift by TS, but no know users. TS has claimed they fixed the problems, but no one here has tried them out again yet. There is supposed to be a 3" lift coming out by Rancho, but no idea how long that will be, probably not before christmas.
Personally if i had the money and the ability to maybe lose my truck for a while if the lift went bad, i'd go out and get the TS lift, but i don't, so i can't.
Anyways, the 4.5" TS lift goes for about $1250 after shipping and should cost about $700-$1000 to install. Then you could get 33's to fit easily.
The other things that turns me off about the TS lift is its inability to help offroad performance. I'm really unsatisfied with the idea of 4" blocks in the rear of my truck instead of new springs or at least add-a-leafs. The blocks will not give u better performance, but they will help to retain stock ride characteristics better.
If i ever get around to this lift, i will get custom 2" blocks for the rear and then add 2 leaves to get the extra 2" back, also get a better off-road performance, and unfortunately a harsh ride, but oh well, lifted trucks are supposed to be harsh!

Message: There is one more thing you can do....
Get a solid Axle swap. It'll cost you about $5,000 if you can get a used axle but it's so much more worth it.
I have spent about $6,000 trying to get my lift working correctly and I'm still having issues w/ my front drive shaft. Truckin is not replacing the drive shafts and the CV-Joint on the front drive shaft that mates up with the transfer case can not handle the new angle after the lift.

Message: Hey Knobbyman I have a question for ya. If you have a 4.5 lift then what did the white truck have on your page, a 6.5 from TS? He looked bigger. Another is, are you really having that many problems with your 4.5 lift or are you pushing the limits of it. I'd really like to know because I'll order it and put it on if it really isn't that bad. I really like the picture in front of the house and was really impressed until i read your having problems. I can't wait to become a member here so everyone can check out my blue and chrome beauty. push bar, need i say more.
Thanks for the info last night arthur really appr. it

Message: That is my truck you are talking about. I have a 99 so I can get a lift that 2000+ models cant because of the rack and pinion steering.
I have a 5.5" Tough Country lift cranked out to 6". I also have a 3" body lift, for 9" of lift.
I wouldnt buy the TS if my life depended on it.

Message: The TS lift is suposed to be 4.5 .. it's really 6" .. If there measurements are that far off on how much it's lifted do you really think they can design a quality lift with angles in it?
That's the easiest way to look @ it.

Message: hey guys alot of crazy stuff posted. but i thought i would ask a question that has probably been answered in your past post but i'm not much of a reader so here it goes. i have a 01 quad cab with a 3 inch body lift and i have 33 inch dakota infinity on it (285's) and i want to go bigger like maybe 36 inch tires is there anyway i can do it and if so please tell me how. i have heard of a cheater way involving another leaf schakeling it and a kit that keys the front torsion bars. i'm not much of a typer or speller so no picking fun lol
