has anyone mounted tow hooks on a 2001 dakota with the PA 3" lift? Also, anyone tried a front end receiver with this set-up? I searched the archives, but didn't come up with much.

I've read how he did it, but he's got a '00 I think, and mine is a '01. They're a little different. I've got to find a way to fix something up, It's driving me nuts not having a place to pull from the front!

The way I did it should work on a 2001. You will still have to cut a small notch in the bottom of the plastic though. Prolly right about where your cut outs are. Might could just cut from those openings straight down, and just make it a nice clean square, might work fine that way. Just look and see if there would be any frame showing where you cut at. Should be though.

I've looked under my truck and can't find any place to really attach them. Hawkeye, do you still have pics of what you did, the archives have erased them. I have the westin safari bar so maybe that's in the way of where you mounted yours. Are the hooks mounted on the inside, or outside of the frame rails?

Thanks for re-posting those pics, I appreciate it. I'll look under again, and see if I can do that. It looks like you bolted them to the bottom of the frame rail right? My frame rail has semi-circles cut out on the leading edge of the frame rail to access the body bolts. Is yours like this also? Did you just move the hooks back until you could fit it?

Yes, my frame rails have the cutouts. Look in the second pic and you should be able to see it.

Thanks for all the info, I just finished putting the tow hooks on. I used the existing holes so I only had to drill one extra per side. They're a little further back then yours Hawkeye, but they should work just fine. Thanks again!!!
