Subject: daystar- spacers for dodge1500 or chevy? IP: Logged
Message: I ordered a set of coil spacers yesterday and want to be sure I got the right ones. via daystars site if you do a seach for the dakota it brings up a set of coil spacers for the dakota, then when you click on specs it shows coil spacers for a 2wd ram.
from other posts people say they use the ones for the chevy 1500.
so did I order the right ones or a set that will work?

Message: The guy I spoke with at Daystar told me to go with the 1.5 inch spacers. With the 2 inch spacers they recomend aftermarket a arms. When you get your springs, can you email me a copy of the install instructions? I want to know if you have to lower the a arms and springs to install the spacer, or if you can squeeze it in if you compress the springs with spring compressors.
my email is njquad2by@hotmail.com
thanks

Message: I've talked to the dude at Daystar about the spacers in the past. He never told me I needed longer control arms. But I am sure that you don't need them for a 2" spacer lift. You can put in a 2" longer spacer or spring(better) and it will be able to be aligned with the stock control arms. Fabtech's leveling lift is a 2" longer spring and shock only. They throw down the custom control arm with the 3" lift.

Message: Yeah I'll post a copy of the instructions. I have never installed spacers but my brother has and he will be helping me and he states I will need a spring compressor to do it but from the installs I've seen of drop kits I should be able to just drop the a arm which seems easier to me then using a spring compressor.
And I ordered the ones for the dodge 1500. to go along with my 265-70-17 mud terrains that should come in tommorrow.
