Message: Talk to Bobby Godwin @
Bgrg131us@cs.com
Here is what he did:
It's actually now a Dodge/Ford Hybrid. I took a torch to the torsion bar suspension and replaced it with the coil suspension and straight axles, front and rear, from a Ford Bronco. In the rear I installed a Detroit Locker and an ARB in the front. I lowered the gears to 4:56 and it easily
moves the 35" mudders.

Message: There is a guy in town that converted his 98 or 99 dakota to a straight axle. He is running 40" mudders. All the components are off a 77 ford. Looks great.

Message: god help me.... i've been thinking again!!!! anyways, i was thinking about it, and looking through what the trailmaster ifs lift involves, and maybe i should just build somehting like that myself rather than trying to do than solid axle, prolly about the same amount of work, what do you all think?????

Message: you should think about doing the straight axle conversion cause you can get a rediculous amount of lift and better articulation that you will ever get with the 4 inch trailmaster lift. plus it would be a hell of a lot stronger (if you built it right).

Message: true, true.... because aside from offroading, i plow a number of houses, as well as working it throughout the summer.... strong front end is always good, plus it'll be nice and tall. =)
