If you have any questions please do a search before you ask. I think everyone that's ever posted on here has asked that same question.

There are 2 lifts out for the 4x4 '01 Dakotas. But neither of them are quality.

If you want to lift your truck the only option right now is to do a 3" Body lift. The part number is PER60043. After putting on that lift you can clear 33" tires with a small amount of fender trimming (the black plastic liner in side your fender well).

Rancho should be comming out with a 2.5" Suspension lift in September I think. But they keep setting a date and then breaking it. So who knows when a lift is actually going to come out.

Anyone have anything else to add?

I contacted Rancho last week about their 3" (actually 2.5") lift. They replied with "it will probably be the end of fall or early winter before it is available." So I'm betting on the beginning of fall next year. Who would have thought that the conversion to rack and pinion steering from the pitman arm would be so complicated? Maybe if we all started e-mailing Rancho daily, the might break under the pressure.

I have to give credit to Rancho for being the only reputable company to try and make a lift for us `00 and up Dak owners , but what good is a 2.5 in susp. lift? Without a bodylift you still couldn`t fit 33s. I`ll bet it costs 12-1500 dollars too.
The only plus I see is , you might be able to squeeze 35s under it with a body lift.

If ,and this is a BIG IF , Truckin Susp. had there sh!t together , they would be headed in the right direction...offering a 4.5 to 9.5 in. kit, at a realistic price ,for us ,is exactly what we`re all looking for. But we need the reliability to go along with it...apparently you can`t have both for a Dakota for some reason!?

Just FYI really quick.. I had another problem with my truck.. Luckly my dad was borrowing my truck and it happened when he had it at work (a fab shop). Anyway one of the 4 parts I didn't have to replace or strengthen cracked and broke off. So they had to be fixed and strengthened. Somehow I got lucky on this one and it happened as they were about to lift up the front end to make another repair. So as the forklift (yes but it's stronger & alot faster then a regular jack) was just about to pick up the front end the shock mounts broke off. That's also what was screwing with my alignment. I'll get some pictures of the repairs later. I don't have any of the break because I was out of town.

I have a 2000 4x4 and it seems everyone is looking for the same info. Well, I have some. A web site:truckinsuspension.com makes(2)susp.lifts. There are a 4.5" & 6.5".This site only shows photos from the 6.5" lift.I also spoke to a rep from Rancho and he advised they are working on a 3"susp.lift. The delay in production is the steering knuckle. Earliest market time is January 2003 so he thinks. The only question I have is 3" enough for 33" tires!
