Subject: headers and body lift IP: Logged
Message: is there any clearance problems with a body lift?
i dont recall anyone talking about any problems.
for christmas im going to treat my truck to headers, high flow cat and cat back.
thats all after i finally choose an intake i cant decide to go with the intence 360 or the volant.
what do you guys think?
i know i read a lot of the threads on intakes and everyone is happy with what they bought so that makes me undecided!

Message: If anything I think you would have more room and clearance with the body being up a few inches.

Message: You'll have alot more room to install the headers with the body lift. If you remove the front tires, you could probably do most of the work from within the front wheelwells (if you haven't installed the gap guards yet.

Message: The only clearance issue I had with headers and body lift was that the passenger side header melted a small hole in the fender liner. There's about an inch clearance there but it was close enuff to hear 'er up a little I guess.
They're still a bear to install, body lift or no!

Message: It was problly me. I have had a time with my edelbrock headers hitting my steering shaft on the drivers side. On a 1990 Gen I 2wd of course. Dont really know about your application. But since the angle of the steering shaft was incleased, and had an extension put in, the design of the headers from the manufacture was not exactly what t trucks specs were anymore. Just take a look and be sure. It has been a pain for me.
