Subject: modified T/C lift for Gen II
IP: Logged

Message:
I was wondering if anyone has taken a look at the T/C lift to see if it would fit on a Gen II? I know there would have to be some modifications, but the front suspension looks almost the same through the years. Heck if Walt can make a T/M lift fit a genI; why can't the T/C lift fit the gen II? I have a Genn II with 31X12.50 boggers. I want to go higher. I want to put atleast 33's. I'm hoping that someone out there has had the same idea as me and was looking to install the lift. Any reply to this matter will be greatly appreciated.

Super bee, I guess you don't really know the diffreence between the T/M lift and the T/C lift. The T/M lift uses spacers on the spindles and a new upper control arm. this set-up allows you to only use 10" rims because of the off-set. If you use an 8" rim with the lift it will rub on the upper arm. thats a crappy way of doing things. The T/C lift uses drop bracket for the upper a-arm. This set-up allows you to run your stock rims or 8" rims with wide tires. The reason I use 8" rims is because in Hawaii we have a law that your tires cann't extend outside the feder wells unless you have fender flares. I want to put 33X12.50 on 8" rims. This setup will be perfect for my truck and the 5.5 lift will make my dodge the tallest Dakota on Kauai. tthat is the reason I want a T/C lift. Most T/M lifts can't use the stock rims or 8" rims and I'm running 8" rims on my truck. If you knbow of anyone running the T/M lift with an 8" rim and a tire that is 12.50 or wider, please let me know. And thats what you are missing. you were well educated in lifts for Daks then you wouldn't be saying things like WTF you idiot.

Has anyone asked T/C if they themselves have looked at the adaptability of their kit to a Gen II? Maybe with a modified part or two, they could double the size of their market! They might even look for a volunteer vehicle in their area!
