I am getting closer to installing a leaf sprung solid dana 44 axel in the front of a 96 dak.

I need to order the springs I want to run up front only I am not sure which ones to get 4" or 6" lifted Chevy fullsize springs. I want to run a 38" swamper but I don't want the extra 2" if I don't need it.

Thanks for any help or opinions...

well if you know that you need at least 4" of lift but your unsure about going to 6", you could just get the 4" springs and if you really do need that extra 2" after you instal them then you could get a set of 2" shackles to get you up there. but ya know that all depends on how your going to set this up and stuff... im just throwing my ideas in. if your pretty close to doing this then id like it a lot if you kept me informed on how the process is going, and send me some before and after pics if you can. later

I say if your not sure always go bigger. It would look and perform better with the truck 2in. more off of the tires than it would if they rubbed.
I had most of the items and was ready to do my own swap on my 99 CC Dakota when I realized it was just to small inside for my growing kids.
I was going to go with the 6in. springs or the King Off-Road coilovers. Good luck and let us know what happens.

Go 6"s my freind I have an 88 dakota with 38-12.5 swamp's 15-10s. I did a solid axle conversion which amounted to about 4"s of suspension & 3" body & I still rubb when articulatting. good luck it's a chore if you do it the back yard.

BRENT88 I AM GOING TO A PLACE CALLED THE JEEP BOWL WITH MY LITTLE BIG TRUCK THIS WEEKEND & HOPEFULLY I'LL BE ABLE TO GET SOME GOOD STOMPIN PICS. 1ST OF ALL IN MY CONVERSION I MASSECRED A 67 FORD BRONCO THEN I WENT TO WORK ON MINE.I USED 2" OVER COIL SPRINGS,RECESSED THE BRONCOS SPRING TOWERS INTO THE FRAME ABOUT 2"S TO KEEP THE SPRINGS STANDING STRAIGHT UP & DOWN ,BUILT MY FRAME UP AROUND TOWERS INSIDE AND OUT. SET MY TRAC BARS BUILT A GOOD HEAVY BRACKET & WELDED EM UP. PUT 4" BLOCKS UNDER THE BACK ALONG WITH THE BRONCS REAR AXLE.I'M RUNNIN 4:10-4:11S. I DOUBT MY 95 WILL SEE IT'S HIEGHT ANY TIME SOON.
