Message: Has anyone experienced their CV boot going out. This the 2nd time for me. This time, it ended up destroying the half shafts. The truck has been in the shop for a week now!! The dealer has to order new half shafts coming from the East Coast. I would recommended everyone make periodic checks on your CV Boot for any signs of wear or tear. Lucky, for me I was only 15 miles from home and not out 4wheeling when it happened!!! Its kind of scary...this could have happened while I was out wheeling and left me stuck.....

Message: I have a better question: Why do they make those boots out of a cheap plastic? Why not something stronger and more durable, like leather?

Message: Leather tends to dry out and crack. How many AVERAGE people would buy this type of truck and crawl under their truck every few months to apply some kind of leather preservative? Not many I am sure.
