Message: The year of your truck would be good to Carl.
So my guess is your going to try a Tuff country 5.5" suspension and a performance accesories 3" body, if you have mechanical skills and access to a lift and tons of tools, you could probably do the lift with a couple friends. I always suggest going to a shop for suspension lifts, but if you think you can do it, more power to you.
That set-up sounds pretty crazy though...9" on a regular cab with the 3.9L V6. You will definely want to set up to 4.56 gears if you are going to try and run 35's or larger on that engine. Anything less or any larger a tire and your truck really won't like it.
But hell, sounds like your going to have some fun, we need pics when your all done!

Message: Well, my next question to you would be what gears do you have in it now? 3.55...3.92? What transmission...the 5 speed stick or 4 speed auto?
Honestly...with the 5.5" you can probably only fit 33's and still be able to get full articulation and travel without rubbing...35's would definitely be pushing boundaries.
If you want to run 35's...you will definetly need AT LEAST 3.92 gears to turn them with any kind of power...and that's with the 5 speed.
With an auto and 3.55 and 35's...your going to be wishin you could accelerate.
So write what exactly you have...and i can post back to you mid afternoon Friday with what i think.

Message: There should be an ID sticker in your glovebox door that tells you , among other things , your gear ratio.
Also , you won`t have such a problem with acceleration with 36s and your factory gears as you will with driving on the highway. The truck will keep jumping in and out of OD. Of course you could just turn off the OD , but that gets old fast.

Message: oops , guess I need to read better!
Oh well , you could just have a 4-speed then. Who knows , maybe you won`t have a problem with 5th gear. My old Dakota was a 5.2 auto. and it seemed as though the motor would pull top gear , its just that damn computer not letting it.

Message: Look just buy the Superlift Truspeed... fixes the shifting problems and spedometer. It is like $129 and I've only heard good things about it. Don't know how well it will work with a manual though.

Message: Well you have 2 on the four things that will help you out...you have the 5 speed and the regular cab. The 3.9L and the 3.55 gears are a very weak set-up however, and it would be best used with 33's, but 35's will probably be ok, just less power to used. Set-up sounds good, but if your going for 6", might as well go with the tuff country lift at 5.5", crank the torsion bars, and then have all suspension lift. It's what i'd do, but the 3"+3" sounds good too.

Message: Carl, i used work with a guy that had a CC with a 3" body and the 5.5" tuff country lift. He was running 36x14.50 Ground Hawg Radial's he had plenty of lift but he also had too much liftfor that size of a tire. As for the gears, if you run anything bigger than a 33 you are going to have to change your gears to at least a 4.10. On your RC i think your going to have too much lift for just a 35, if i were you i'd just go with the 5.5" TC lift and thats it. just figured i'd share my experience with these lifts with you.
