I don't post alot on this forum, but I do read alot. It so frustrating to wait 3 years for a good suspension lift for my 2000 with nothing yet. I know there's lot's of people out there with the same sentiments. When a good lift becomes available I'll be jumping on it but I also wanted to do better sway bars front and rear, a 3" body lift and a rear disc brake conversion. Should I do these after a suspension lift, before, or does it matter? What problems will I run into if I install the body before the suspension or vice versa? Thanks for the help guys. Went to my local 4x4 shop and asked them if they could install one of those Truckin' lifts and they said that they wouldn't want to be held liable for the safety of the lift. They probably did me a favor because if they would have installed it I'd have gotten it. Thanks again!

Man, I feel your pain. I too am chomping at the bit to have a susp lift. But we have to be patient. Be careful about what manufacturer you put the safety of you and your family and your truck in. I am willing to wait for a proven and established company to make a lift. Rumor has it Rancho is to come out with a 2.5 inch susp lift this fall around Nov. I think. I am willing to wait for that. I won't hurt to go with a body lift for now then do susp lift when they come out. That's what I did. If you are going to do any exhaust work wait until you do body lift. You tailpipe will show badly unless you have it resituated. Might as well have all that done at one time.

And to add to Dodster, on the part of the rear disc upgrade, when you lift you will need to change out the Brake-lines, both when you put the brakes on, put on the body lift, and then again when you install the suspension, so the brakes would probably best wait till last so you only have to buy one set of stainless steel brake lines, or else you could waste about $200 for all the times you would need to get new lines when you lift.

Oh, I forgot to ask before. How about shocks. Can I put on new shocks right now and then down the road add a body then suspension lift?

Ross, I wouldn't change shocks until you get suspension lift. Body lift won't affect your shocks. If you change shocks now you'll have to do it again when you get susp lift. You might want to get a body lift now because that will take away some of the frustration of waiting for susp lift. It helped me. Plus I think my truck looks good. It will look even better with susp lift.

BTW, body lift is relatively inexpensive compared to susp lift. So by getting the body lift now it will take away some of the pain waiting for susp lift while using little fundage. If you're really looking to save money don't make a tire change until you have both lifts. The combined height gained will allow you to fit the biggest tire you can. I made that mistake. When I got body lift I went and got my BFG MTs in a 32x11.5.x15. Now when I get susp lift someday I will be able to fit bigger tires maybe even 35s. But that is to be seen. When I get susp lift I will be selling my 32s to try and buy new tires. I need to take my own advice and be PATIENT. ;)
