Subject: new guy with torsion bar help IP: Logged
Message: Hey,
I just bought a 2002 4wd SLT+ with the auto and 4.7L. I want to put bigger tires on it. What size tires can I fit if I crank the torsion bars? How far can I torsion the bars up without hurting anything or how it drives. It I do crank them it wont be for very long because I plan on lifting it when a good lift comes out.

Message: Check my response to Dodster in the "Torsion Bar Help" thread just below. I didn't go all the way to level. Only up about 3/4". A front end alignment after is a good idea. I've been running around all this week after doing last weekend, and ride is slightly stiffer (I like it better) and there are no moans or groans from the front end. Can't wait to get the 275's on it.

Message: I was thinking of torsioning the front up 2 inches and a 1 inch block in back. What size tire will I be able to fit. I would like to run a 285/75/16......
