Message: Getting ready to order a 3" lift for my 2001 QC.
I have a brush guard on the front.
How is the brush guard going to work once I install the lift? Am I looking at a real pain in the A$$???
In other words, anyone know what's involved during the install to get the brush guard to attach?

Message: I don't know because I haven't done it.. But if your brush guard on the same mounts as the bumper? If so it should be ok.. But your going to loose your tow hooks :'( although I think the holes MIGHT line up with the frame after it's lifted Hawkeye said it looks like they do.. only one way to find out for sure though.

Message: I've heard its a real PITA. I want to do the same as you Ayrow but I don't want to deal with a brush gaurd that I have to fabricate brackets for. I want the one that bolts to the frame, not to the bumper. So far, my friends tell me they all had to make new brackets. :-/

Message: Now I'm a little scared. The brush guard is indeed attatched to the frame - just like the bumper, but in a different spot.
Yikes... Now I am wondering if it is worth it to go for this or not.
Anybody have any ideas or solutions that are easier than re-fabricating mounts. I realld don't want to have to pull out my welder for this job if I don't have to....
However, she would look pretty sweet with the lift AND the brush guard, huh?
Thanks Guys,
Ayrow

Message: I've seen it! Its worth it if you want to put in the time and energy. I'm still going to add a brush guard, it just might take awhile before I do. Actually Ayrow, check out this site. There is a guy I know that has done all this to his 2wd and he's got a web site. Its VERY informative and gave me lots of ideas on what I'm doing to my truck now.

Message: You might run into trouble if you are installing a body lift. If you ar installing a suspension lift it should not be a problem. You might be better off, dumping the vrush guard and buying a pre-runner style guard which mounts to the bumper. That way it wont matter if you nstall a body lift or not it should work.
My 1999 Blue Dodge Dakota Extended Cab has a 3 inch Performance Accessories Body Lift and Rancho 3 inch Suspension Lift.
