I own A 95 2wd club cab, and I would like to put some more air under my truck. How much work would one have to do, to install your new cradle system on A 2wd dak.?

I have a 96 ext cab 2wd that I want to lift more than 3 inches. If any one has any good ideas I would like to hear them. I found the aim web site. but what they sell gives you 3 inches. I am thinking I can put longer springs in with their control arm but am worried about the steering angle. What I really need to go with it is either a body lift, not available for 2wd dakotas or lifted spindles not available for genI dakotas. What is the difference between genI and genII spindles? If there is enough interest in lifted spindles I will manufacture them for sale myself. so if interested please lets here about it.

I believe that rough country makes a 2 inch susp. lift for 96 and older dakotas. We just found it and plan on purchasing it - under $300.

OMG!! DON'T GO WITH AIM!

Get a 3" Body lift if you want suspension instead get the FabTech 3" lift.

TallQuad did the combo of both of them on his truck it looks AWSOME!

No Fabtech for the GenII or I though. AIM is like the only lift for us. And that really sucks. Trailmaster makes a 4x4 lift but its like $2000. So for us 2wder, the Aim lift and the Rough Country 2in lift is it. And I know from my truck, that the 2in RC is not really worth it. Yeah it gets you up 2 more inches but After that and a 3in customized Body lift, I can barely run 31x10.50s. I am wanting to call AIM and see if anyone has actually bought their GenI Dak 3in lift kit. Then if so, contact them and see what they say. I have a very good, honest shop I have dealt with numeras times over the last couple years and I trust them. So if the parts are OK, then I, when I get $, will go for the AIM 3iner. Then all we gotta do is get 3in lift spindles and we can run 35s.

Hey everyone !!!! I have (actually girlfriend's; I own a 99) a 96 2wd Club cab and found a 2 inch suspension lift. Rough country makes it. Found it in an ad from Petersons 4-wheel. With shocks and to the door it was $250. We just installed it, and although it was a pain, it looks good. The shocks did not fit though, so we are sending them back. The kit comes without them too - cheaper. Forget the price though. The stock shocks work just fine. Any questions - SheafferII@aol.com, may find the ad again and be more help with a little time - somewhere around here.

Yeah thats the lift I have too. I think it has been on about 1 1/2 years now. I am having problems with it starting to settle now. I am loosing "a tiny" bit of lift. Tell me what you do about tires ok. What size you get and stuff.
Joe E.
By the way, mine is a 1990. I also had the shocks ordered and they sent me 3 front ones and 1 rear one. They did however send me a rear one right away and I still have the spare front Heckethorn shock.
