Subject: 95 dakota lifts IP: Logged
Message: i have heard from my local 4x4 shop that there is only one lift from trailmaster for my truck and it allows 31's to fit. it costs more than $2000 to have it installed. are there any other options for getting 33's under this truck... thanks.

Message: you should be able to fit 31's on there without anything more than cranked torsion bars, that's how mine is set up. well, that and blocks in the back. i'd think the trailmaster 4" lift (and yes, the only lift other than body lifts) would allow 33's, but it depends on wheels, etc. put the susp. and a body lift, you should be fine. just my humble opinion.

Message: since the wheel wells of dakotas are pretty squared off, that's why you can't put 33's on. you'd have to do a LOT of fender trimming to be able to turn them. i've seen lots of guys that put on the trailmaster kit and then add a 3in body lift and fit 33's. there was a recent post with a picture of some guy that put 33's on with a 3in body lift and he had to do some major fender hacking and it looked terrible. 4in isn't much more than 3. i've got a 3in body lift on my 94 dakota and i couldn't fit anything more than 31's without fender trimming.

Message: I have a 2000 dakota and I have found out some info on lifts. A web site called truckinsuspension.com sells a 4.5" susp.lift for 2000 and up and other years. This is a big seller for 33" tires.I also spoke to a rep from Rancho. He explained they are making a 3" susp.lift for the 2000 and up.The delay in production is the steering knuckle. The earliest for this lift is most likely January of 2003.The only question is 3" enough for 33" tires?
