Subject: Alignment with Tuff Country Lift

Message:
I went offroading yesterday and the front lower control arm drop brackets hit rocks on a couple occasions and also hit on a couple of other times on a hillside coming out of mud holes. On the way back we noticed that the alignment was screwed up completely (the front tires were angled in towards the engine, like the baja trucks front wheels). We noticed that where the upper control arms bolt on to the drop bracket, one bolt on each side had loosened and slid. Has this happened to anyone else or does anyone have any idea as to how to fix this is the future. We came up with a quick fix for next weekend (big convoy trip for Memorial weekend) by putting bolts with washers in the slots to prevent the bolt connections from sliding. I hope this should work because I have to go this weekend because this past weekend was too much fun. Any help or suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Yes! Yes! Yes! I had the T.C. lift on my 99 Dak. and had the same problems and I never took it off-road! It would happen everytime I made a hard stop. I ended up doing the same thing as you (after trying EVERYTHING else) and left it that way. I think it`s more of a design flaw on Dodge than T.C. but that`s not to say I was real happy with the lift. It was nice to have an option though as I now have a 2002 QC that no REAL susp. manuf. makes anything for.
