 Subject: 2000+ 4wd susp lift

rancho has a message on the bottom of there website saying that soon they will have a lift for the 2000-2001 dak/dur coming soon. i hope there version of soon is before summer is over cuza i want a lift on my dak so bad. i hope its 4in+ anyway just thought id share

Alright I'll handle this one.
Its been up there for a while and every time anyone on this board has called or emailed about when "soon" will be, they say "soon"
So ..... keep waiting bud, but don't bet on it.
FYI: Fabtech has started building 4x4 systems and they also say "soon"... Who knows? Maybe soon will come.

ahhhhh spaceballs thats a classic. im sorry im just so anxious to get a quality lift on my dak i just got it a week ago and ive only seen one other dak in houston so far thats lifted and i want to be aprt of the few the proud the lifted

Excellent cadetdak. You can't go wrong with Mel Brooks and that is a perfect fit for the R&P truck lift situation.
I have also talked with Rancho over the past year and I get the feeling that we owners of R&P steering trucks may have "just missed it" and that is for sure the situation "NOW"

check out truckinsuspension.com, they have 4.5",6.5",&9.5" lifts. i just ordered the 4.5",traction bars & 1" rear blocks. only 1600.00 inc,s shipping to my door. tech said; doetech made shocks,rear spring bkts.,all suspension no blocks(REAR),only cutting for rear bkts & pancake bumpstops. color; silver grey. 33x12.5 have slight rubbing. that's why i got 1" blocks,crank torsion bars on front. 2000 CC SLT 4x4 4.7 auto

Larry, where have you been? Do an archive search for Knobbyman or for 1/2 way done. This lift has caused nothing but problems, and the company screwed over the guy who bought it. Good luck.

Cancel the order if you still have time or refuse the shipment when it arrives. Their 6.5" prototype has still some bugs to be worked out, the 4.5 and 9" are pre-prototype IMO and need lotsa work, just ask Knobby. Better yet, be nice and don't bring it up to him lest he strangle ya for asking.

YES I'VE TRIED THAT LIFT! BTW the blocks & cranking the t-bars won't stop the rubbing it's in there design that it rubs.
You're going to end up having your truck down for about 2 months and make SURE and take it to a custom shop.. AND get your front drive shaft joints re-done or they'll break.
OMG read these posts before you spend your $$. Also the shocks SUCK! Get some Rancho 9000's while they're still on sale.
They keep all the front shocks. That lift is CRAP nothing fits correctly and the one truck it's on (mine) breaks everytime I think we finally get it fixed.
It's been down for 2 1/2 months out of the last 3.

I know this may sound a little mean, but don't you think that one would do a little research before making a purchase that significant. Hell, if the money isn't a concern, than the thought of what you are about to do to your Dak should sponsor some flicker of cognitive thought telling you to make sure that the components/company/kit are as advertised.
It was these "self-preservation" instincts that kept me from jumping on the Whiplash Suspension bus last year.

Hehe.. I should have gotten that one.. Mikes said that the Whiplash kit was a higher quality lift. :-\ (remembers how bad it feels to shoot self in the foot).
Well I have to go check to see if they've even gotten to my truck yet.. Later all.

We trip, stumble, and fall in life, Knobby. It's wether or not you learn...and I think you did!! hehe
Besides, I cannot short you for pioneering the new lift for us. After all...someone has to. But now that it has been done, it is common knowledge (on this board anyway) that their lift kit isn't "tried & true," and a search of the forums will document that.
