well here's the low down of the status of the 2wd lift from Whiplash someone stated that they were going to build for us 2wd dak owners. sorry to pop ya's bubble but they have no plans of making one YET. but i talked to Cory and he said they could start on one tomarrow and it still wouldn't be done for another 6 months to a year. sorry you guys. but if they don't have a lift by next Feb. i'm going to take my dakota and around $3000-4500 to them and drop off my truck and tell them to make me a lift, becuase i'm tired of hearing rumors of this person is going to make a lift or this company...... oh well, for now. i was just letting ya know the status of the "Whiplash lift kit for the 2wd Dakota".

36 or 38s on a 2WD? I can`t even guess what parts on the front end would break off first! You`d need more that a series of drop down brackets and poorly made a-arms to do that. I`d opt for a custom fabricator to build it to last , if you`ve got that kind of cash , why waste it on Whiplash? You will be re-fabbing theirs to make it work anyway , trust me.
BTW , Tallquad , your truck look awesome! It looks so much taller from the front end without all the clutter of a 4WD.

thanks scott! i really like how 2wd's look in the front too (one reason why i got it).

36's or 38's hmmm... that would definitly have to be MUCH higher than my truck!! I would love to see it finished, but then again, look at Knobbyman's truck... I only have one vehicle and kinda needed something that would work the first time. I've just heard of really bad things about Whiplash, and to be honest, I just don't trust companies I don't know very well with my 30K truck. But if josh can fit 38's or even 36's and still be freeway worthy... I will be the first to bow-down. :-)

We can't ALL have the same truck anyway, right!

thanks tallquad for the encourgement. your right, we CAN'T all have the same truck. this truck would be mainly for looks so. not only that i'll have a local 4x4 shop here to reinforce any thing that looks "shady". thanks for that comments everyone.

Yo Tall, i've been reading your post and came across your pix...oh damn, you are riding my dream. I got a 2000 Fire Amber Pearl 2wd regular cab dakota and so far, i installed fab's 3 inch suspension, added wheel spacers to fit my stock rims, and used 2 inch lift shackles to level it out. My next plan, and very soon is the 3 inch body...and since you did it yourself, was it hard and can you give me some pointers? Thanks man. If you want some pix of my wheelin in my lifted dakota, let me know.

Thanks Chaximus! I've actually put some helpful details on this forum somewhere that should answer most of your questions. My tips and tons of others should pop right up if you do a search. There is just way too much to describe again, ya know...haha.

I would also like to see some pics of your truck! I was thinking about using spacers for the stock wheels for off-road/street tire conversions, but I wasn't sure how they would work. Have you had any problems with them? Anything you can tell me would be great!

Yo man, about the spacers, well they are just like putting on wheels. Just bolt them on with the extra nuts and leave em. No biggie. They sure give your truck an agressive look, just like as if you bought new rims with lower backspacing.
