Subject: factory lift. IP: Logged
Message: my 2000 dakota i was told has a factory lift. does
anyone know whether the lift from the factory is
suspension or body? and if not how can i tell myself
what it has? im looking to lift it atleast 3 more
inches but i dont want to waste the money on a body
lift and it turnes out its what i already have.

Message: How ever there was a "HD" Suspension option.
You can go to the dealer and ask if you can have a print off of the options your truck came with or a "build sheet". And it will tell you if you have an HD suspension.
I have the HD Suspension package and bigger tires (31's/265's)and sit about 1-2" Higher then the normal 4x4 dakota with 235's

Your rig is an inch or two higher because the tires you are running are just under 3 inches taller than the stock 235s the standard version came with. The HD suspension package amounts to (slightly) stronger shocks all the way around and 'progressively' heavier springs in the rear...meaning you have a total load capacity of 2,550lbs vice 1,800lbs.
